Sartell now has a new police officer, Jacob Walters of Sauk Rapids. Sartell Police Chief Jim Hughes administered the oath to Jacobs at the March 9 city council meeting. Walters, 26, grew up in Royalton and graduated with a degree in law enforcement from Bemidji State University. He is an active member of the Minnesota National Guard. This is his first police-officer job. The Sartell Police Department, with Walters, now has 16 full-time officers and nine volunteer Reserve officers.
