Carol Weiler, Sartell
A few weeks ago, at dusk, I was driving to Walgreen’s along Pine Cone Road in somewhat heavy traffic. Before I reached the stop light, two people cut across the street on roller blades at high speed, in front of the car ahead of me, not at the crosswalk.
I assumed these rollerbladers were two kids, but as they reached the other side I saw one was a child and the other (who was in the lead) appeared to be a parent!
This was a very dangerous and irresponsible action to take. Because of the lack of light, they were hardly visible. They could very well have been one of the pedestrian-vehicle casualties in the news today. The parent was not only leading this child into a dangerous situation, but modeling behavior that leads the child into risky actions in the future.
If you were the parent in this story, you should be ashamed.
