I realize my comment is going to offend some readers but please keep an open mind. Think about it, and then vent if you need to.
Proclamations designating our flags to be flown at half staff are becoming too commonplace. The significance of lowering flags to half staff is being desensitized due to frequency of use. How many times have you seen flags at half staff and wondered why?
Keeping the bar high will make flying flags at “half staff’ an honor well deserved.
