We now have another medical product to assist Alzheimer’s patients. If the disease is detected early enough, the life of the Alzheimer’s patient can be extended one or more years.
With my wife passing away five years ago from the effects of Alzheimer’s, I understand the difficulties of families and caregivers, both physical and mental.
I have given this much thought and wonder if this is one step forward or two steps backward.
If I fall victim to Alzheimer’s, I request my family and caregivers to pass (on this drug); I respect them.
By the way, the medication starts at about $26,000 per year.
