The perennially popular “Cookout with Cops” will take place from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, in Sartell at the St. Francis Church Gathering Place.
The free event welcomes all seniors who are 55 or older to enjoy a cookout that includes hot dogs, hamburgers, all the fixings, refreshments and other treats.
As every year, there will also be informative presentations by guest speakers about issues relating to senior citizens.
The event is sponsored by the Sartell Police Department in conjunction with S.A.L.T. (Seniors and Law Enforcement Working Together). It is also made possible by donations from local businesses and individuals.
Those who plan to attend should RSVP by calling 258-7365. A head count is needed so organizers can know how much food must be purchased.
Cooking With Cops began nearly 15 years ago, and each year the attendance has increased hugely.
