The Sartell Compost Site opened April 1 for residents and other permit-holders to drop off yard waste.
“Other” permit holders can include only residents of St. Cloud and LeSauk Township, not those from any other cities or townships. A permit for a Sartell resident (family) is $30. For those in LeSauk Township or St. Cloud, the cost is $70.
Acceptable drop-off items at the site are leaves, grass clippings, brush, tree branches and other types of yard- or garden- waste.
The site is located at 520 30th Ave. N. It will be open from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. every day of the week during the spring and early fall (depending on weather). Starting Oct. 14, the site will be open for its fall hours from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. until its closing date, Nov. 24.
To purchase a permit for 2024, go to https:bit.ly/sartellcompost2024. Permits purchased last year will not be valid at the site.
A nifty development debuted at the compost site last year – an automatic entrance gate. Visitors to the site can show their permit to an “electric” eye on the gate, and it will automatically open.
