Stacy Hurdt (President)

Sartell

The Sartell Education Association Local #7234 is pleased to announce our endorsement of three candidates running for a seat on the school board in the November elections.

On Sept. 19, the SEA held a candidate interview panel at the Sartell Community Center for our membership. All nine candidates were invited to participate in the interview process in order to gain a possible endorsement. The following six candidates participated in our interview panel: Molly McCann, Ryan Dale, Kris Lawrence, Nate Crowe, Katie Hilger and Amanda Byrd. Byrd submitted written responses due to another commitment that evening. The remaining three candidates – Emily Larson, Jen Smith and Scott Wenshau – sent an email respectfully declining to participate in the process as they were not seeking the endorsement of the SEA, nor would they accept it if offered.

The SEA had 55 members attend the interview panel where each candidate had a 20-minute time slot to answer six predetermined questions. After the candidates who were present completed the interview panel, the SEA members in attendance were given a 15-minute timeframe to vote for up to three candidates of their choice.

On Sept. 21, the Sartell Education Association contacted the three candidates with the highest number of votes to offer the endorsement. Molly McCann, Nate Crowe and Kris Lawrence accepted the SEA Endorsement on Sept. 22. The SEA Membership was notified via email regarding the interview results and the endorsement offers.

The SEA Executive Board would like to thank all six candidates who were willing to participate in our event. Each of these six candidates brings something unique to the table, and we are grateful for their time and willingness to seek an endorsement from the educators in the Sartell-St. Stephen schools.

Our hope in endorsing these three candidates is for all SEA members and the community to get educated on the candidates who are running and get out to vote in November.

This is the SEA’s official announcement of endorsement of Molly McCann, Nate Crowe and Kris Lawrence for school board in November.

Respectfully,

Sartell Education Association Local #7234 Executive Board:

Stacy Hurdt,

   SEA president

Paul Moe,

   SEA vice president

Aimee Klemp, SEA

  membership coordinator;

Sarah Gill,

   SEA secretary; and

Rachel Smith,

   SEA treasurer.
