On the 22nd anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks against the United States, the Sartell Fire Department paid tribute by unfurling the American flag from its ladder truck. The tribute was in honor of the many victims of those attacks and for the many emergency personnel who worked heroically and selflessly to rescue victims. Many of those emergency workers – firefighters, police officers, medical workers – lost their lives in the catastrophe, and many are now sick with cancer due to exposure to the dusty toxic debris after the Twin Towers collapsed into a massive pile of rubble.
