Sartell is one of 11 cities or school districts to receive a Mighty Ducks ice-arena grant from the Minnesota Amateur Sports Commission.
Sartell was granted $100,000, which can be used for improvements at the Bernick’s Arena.
The total amount of the 11 grants is $1.5 million under the Mighty Ducks Ice Arena Grant Program. The grants can be used to develop new arenas, improve air quality in existing ice arenas and eliminate the use of R-22 systems in ice-arena refrigeration. That latter change is proposed for the Bernick’s Arena by the Sartell Youth Hockey Association, which manages the popular arena.
