A Sartell man was arrested after a woman was punched in her face an estimated 15 times in a car while it was parked in Centennial Plaza on Veterans Drive in St. Cloud.
The assault occurred June 14.
According to the criminal complaint, Luke Edward Hickman, 29, is charged with domestic assault, a felony offense.
The complaint states the woman told police she had been letting Hickman sleep in her car because he was homeless. While giving the man a ride, she said he became very upset and argumentative. At Centennial Plaza, she went into a store, hoping Hickman would leave the car and go away. When she returned to the car, he was even more upset. She said when she was preparing to turn onto Veterans Drive from the mall, the man hit her “approximately 15 times” in her face.
A police officer noted the woman had a split lip and facial bruising.
Hickman denied to police that he hit the woman and said the argument they had was verbal only. He also told police he was suffering from “mental-health issues.”
