It touches millions of lives — people of all ages, ethnicities, and backgrounds — but the research is clear: suicide is preventable, and the more people who stand up for suicide prevention and mental health, the more lives we can save. I’m walking for my beautiful niece Katie, whom at the age of 21, died by suicide, in November of 2016. The grief and pain I feel as a result of her loss, has compelled me to elevate the conversation and research conducted about anxiety, depression and suicide.
