Sartell High School’s yearbook program was awarded the Jostens 2022 National Yearbook Program of Excellence Gold Level, the highest level.
The yearbook program is led by students Rylie DeMaine, Elsa Fahleen, Emily Jelinski and Emma Schreiber under the direction of adviser Angie Heckman.
The National Yearbook Program of Excellence recognizes engaging yearbooks that reflect a broad representation of the student body while helping students develop 21st century skills such as communication, collaboration and information and communication technologies literacy.
“This group of students worked very hard to make this book about celebration and supporting each other after the challenge of the pandemic,” Heckman said in a statement. “I am very proud of how hard they worked and their commitment to excellence. We had a strong crew of returning yearbook staff that helped us meet our deadlines and keep the quality up.”
The award was presented to the yearbook program for achieving defined criteria in these categories: creating an inclusive yearbook, generating school engagement and successfully managing the yearbook creation process.
