July 31
3:08 p.m. Fraud. Officers were called to a fraud complaint. The victim reported they saw a party post tickets for Taylor Swift on Facebook. When the victim contacted the party about the tickets, they were asked to send $1,600 through PayPal for the tickets. The victim says they still haven’t received the tickets and now can’t get ahold of the selling party. Officers are working to try and trace the source of both accounts.

Aug. 1
7:51 p.m. Suspicious activity. Riverside Avenue N. Officers were dispatched to an exposure call at Watab Park. Officers located a vehicle with two occupants inside. They admitted to fooling around and thought they weren’t being seen. They were given a verbal warning for their activity and asked to leave.

Aug. 2
11:48 p.m. Crash. Pinecone Road/17th Street N. Officers were dispatched to a crash with injuries. Officers arrived on scene and could see a light pole down and a small red car in the ditch. The driver stated they had hurt their head, neck and arm. The driver stated the accelerator got stuck on the vehicle causing the vehicle to jump the curb and strike the light pole. Mayo arrived and officers assisted in getting the driver into the ambulance. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

Aug. 4
12:15 p.m. Theft. Cypress Circle. Officers responded to a theft report. The complainant stated their rear license plate was stolen or missing. The caller stated they were unsure when or where it had been taken. Officers entered the plate as stolen and advised the owner to get new plates if they were going to be driving the vehicle. No suspects currently.

Aug. 7
1:57 p.m. Shoplifting. 14th Avenue E. Officers were dispatched to a shoplifting complaint. The store manager said a man took a grinder tool from the shelf, walked out of the store and drove away. The tool was entered as stolen. Officers were able to use surveillance photos from the business to help identify the suspect and learned the suspect lives in Sauk Rapids. The suspect was cited for misdemeanor theft.

Aug. 11
8:03 p.m. Animal bite. First Avenue N. Officers were called regarding a dog bite. The caller stated their sisters-in-law’s dog was being aggressive and was biting people. The caller stated the last incident at the house was the dog bit a 1-year-old in the arm but did not break the skin. The caller stated the child did nothing to provoke the dog. Due to the dog not residing in Sartell the incident was just documented.
