Many Sartell High School students are working hard but having fun as they prepare for the Sartell Homecoming Parade that will start at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27 in the St. Francis Xavier Church parking lot.
The parade lineup will start there at 5 p.m.
In an interview with the Newsleaders, parade co-chair Bennett Prose said there will be 25 floats, including ones for the fire departments of Sartell and St. Stephen, the Sartell Police Department, local businesses and a float from each of the grades 9-12.
There will also be floats for the Homecoming Royalty, the Sartell High School Pep Band and many floats, each dedicated to a fall sporting activity. A winning float will be chosen by judges.
If any other businesses/organizations would like to have a float they are more than welcome to and can get more information by contacting Prose at his email: 25prosben@isd748.org
Along with Prose, Morgan Majerus is co-chair of the parade’s organizing committee.
The free parade, organized by Sartell Student Council members, is welcome to one and all.
“It’s an important event as it culminates our Homecoming Week and leads right into our Homecoming football game,” Prose said. “It’s always so energizing to see the community standing along the route with their families cheering for their favorite floats and getting some candy along the way.”
The proceeds from any paying events during Homecoming time will be donated to the St. Cloud Cancer Center.
The parade will take place rain or shine.
“But we are hoping for clear skies,” Prose said. “But if not we’ll be waving to the crowd in our ponchos!”
