I was shocked and surprised to learn the old credit union building will be torn down for yet another better, bigger building for the city offices. Is this being financially responsible? Why was nothing said about this before – Why not a vote taken by the public? Is St. Joseph becoming like other large cities – demolish one building and replace it with a bigger better building with lots of concrete, glass and a large price tag? Why is the current city office building still being used? It seems outdated whereas lots of money was spent remodeling the former credit union (only the people at the credit union know how much was spent). The former credit union building is beautiful with the woodwork, carpeting and design of it. When the city budget is tight, why are we rebuilding and not using the resources we already have? Will someone please answer these questions. Thanks!
