The slates of local candidates for open positions in Sartell and St. Stephen have now been set for the Nov. 5 general election.
The Newsleaders will publish stories on each one throughout September, October and on Nov. 1.
Here are the names of the candidates:
City Councils
The following candidates are vying for two open seats on the Sartell City Council – seats currently occupied by Alex Lewandowski and Jill Smith, neither of whom filed for re-election.
The candidates are Rustin Deters, Marshall Grams and Pat Lynch.
For St. Stephen City Council, the competing candidates are both incumbents – Stephen J. Trobec and Thomas J. Vouk.
Mayor
There are no candidates for mayor in Sartell because the term of incumbent Mayor Ryan Fitzthum will not expire for another two years.
In St. Stephen, the following are competing for the mayor’s position: incumbent Lisa Marvin and Edward Paul Peternell.
School Board
The candidates for the three open seats on the Sartell-St. Stephen School Board are (in alphabetical order) Aaron Alexander, Michael Gruber, Tricia Meling (incumbent), Matthew Moehrle (incumbent), Michael Ringstad and Chelsea Thielen. Incumbent Jason Nies chose not to file for re-election.
