The St. Joseph Farmers’ Market is closed. But not for long.
The market is taking a break in preparation for its outdoor season. Though April 13 marked the end of the winter market, traffic was steady as young visitors claimed their honey sticks and families purchased meats for dinner and croissants for dessert. The mood was upbeat despite the pounding of rain. According to market vendor Mary Ann Friederichs of Collegeville Artisan Bakery, that is always the case.
“It’s so fun,” Friederichs said of the market experience. “Everyone is always in a happy mood at the market.”
The St. Joseph Farmers’ Market’s 2012 outdoor season will run May 11-Sept. 14. Hours are 3-6:30 p.m. at Resurrection Lutheran Church. The market also has a new website: www.stjosephfarmersmarket.com. Check it out for updates.
