The Minnesota Department of Revenue recently announced the Ramsey County Attorney’s Office charged Mark John Mimbach of Sartell with several tax-related felonies.
Mimbach was charged with five counts of failing to pay income tax, five counts of failing to file income-tax returns and one count of failing to remit sales taxes.
The complaint states Mimbach knowingly failed to file income tax returns or pay income taxes for 2009-13. Mimbach owes more than $340,000 in income tax, penalties and interest. The complaint also says Mimbach did not remit sales tax on retail sales made through his business, MJ Mimbach Trailer Sales for 2009-12. Mimbach owes nearly $6,000 in sales taxes, penalties and interest.
Each charge carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison, a $10,000 fine or both. Defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
