The St. Stephen City Council on Aug. 1 appointed Steve Trobec to the council’s open seat. He will serve until Dec. 31.
The council opening was created when Jeff Blenkush was appointed to be the city’s mayor after Cindy VanderWeyst resigned on July 11.
The two appointments changed the lineup for this fall’s general election.
There will be two council members elected for four-year terms, one council member elected for a two-year term and a mayor elected for a two-year term.
