Santa and Mrs. Claus will pay another visit to St. Stephen when the city hosts its third annual “Winter Extravaganza” from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8 at St. Stephen City Hall.
The event is free, and everyone is welcome to attend. Please bring a new, unwrapped toy or free-will donation in lieu of admission.
There will be reindeer sleigh rides, courtesy of the Hemker Zoo in Freeport. There will also be crafts for sale, cookies and hot chocoloate. Santa will distribute gift bags for children.
In the past two years, the “Winter Extravanza” event had huge turnouts, despite a blizzard-like day for its first year. The event was the idea of Mayor Cindy Vanderweyst and city clerk Chris Drais.
