As the next school year quickly approaches, Catholic Charities Emergency Services is once again hosting a ‘Back to School’ drive. Emergency Services collects the essential school supplies to help those children in need.
Last year they assisted around 2,000 Central Minnesota students with basic school supplies, and they are expecting to assist about the same amount this upcoming school year.
Supplies can be dropped off from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesdays at Catholic Charities Emergency Services, 157 Roosevelt Road (behind Tenvoorde Ford). Distribution of school supplies began Aug. 21.
Supplies needed include: backpacks, boxes of washable markers, colored pencils, scissors (preferable Fiskars), rulers and large scissors, Elmer’s School Glue and glue sticks, scientific calculators, dry erase markers, yellow highlighters, headphones for computer labs, USB sticks (portable computer memory), pens and pencils.
Monetary donations can also be made by going to www.ccstcloud.org and clicking on the ‘Donate Now’ button.
