Stearns County’s Household Hazardous Waste truck will be in St. Stephen at the City/Fire Hall from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 25.
This is a chance for residents to get rid of all those unsafe or nuisance products lying around the house – such as paints, ag pesticides, cleaners, poisons, ink/toner cartridges, roofing tar, fuels, automotive chemicals, sealers, garden chemicals, pool chemicals, fluorescent bulbs, adhesives, aerosols, solvents, mothballs and mercury. Products can be disposed of at no charge. It’s a free service offered by Stearns County’s Environmental Services Department.
For those who cannot make this scheduled mobile collection time, the Tri-County Household Hazardous Waste Facility, newly located at 3601 5th Street South in Waite Park, accepts products year-round. Visit www.co.stearns.mn.us for hours of operation and to see other mobile collection dates and times. Any questions can be answered by calling 320-255-6140 or 1-800-450-6140.
