NAMI 5k walk set for Sept. 22

The St. Cloud Area National Alliance on Mental Health will host a 5k “NAMI Walks” for all ages Saturday, Sept. 22 at St. Cloud Whitney Memorial Park.
Everyone is welcome to join or to form teams of their own.
Registration will start at 11:30 a.m., a program will start at 12:30 a.m. and the walk will begin at 1 p.m. The NamiWalk began 12 years ago and has since become a nationwide event to raise funds and awareness for programs that deal with mental illness.
Whitney Park is located at 1529 Northway Drive.
NAMI is the largest mental-health organization in the nation.

Dennis Dalman

Dalman was born and raised in South St. Cloud, graduated from St. Cloud Tech High School, then graduated from St. Cloud State University with a degree in English (emphasis on American and British literature) and mass communications (emphasis on print journalism). He studied in London, England for a year (1980-81) where he concentrated on British literature, political science, the history of Great Britain and wrote a book-length study of the British writer V.S. Naipaul. Dalman has been a reporter and weekly columnist for more than 30 years and worked for 16 of those years for the Alexandria Echo Press.
