Families new to the Sartell-St. Stephen School District will have a chance to learn about schools and the many school programs at a “New Family” meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 21 at the Pine Meadow Elementary School Media Center.
For more information or to register, call the district office at 656-3715.
The new-parent meeting is just one of several meetings and open houses — all designed to get parents and/or students knowledgeable and comfortable within their schools. The meetings will also give parents a chance to meet teachers, administrators and staff.
The other meetings are as follows:
Athletic information
For parents of seventh- and eighth-graders who will participate in sports this year, a meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22 at Sartell Middle School.
The young athletes, too, are encouraged to attend the meeting.
For more information, call the Activities Office at 656-3717.
Dietary needs
Special dietary needs for students, which seem to be on the increase in recent years, will be the subject of a meeting from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 27 at Sartell High School.
The informational meeting will be led by members of the Food Service Department.
For more information, call 656-3725.
Open houses
The following open houses have been slated for parents and students:
Sartell High School: Tuesday, Aug. 28 from 3:30-6:30 p.m. for grades 9-12. For more information, call the high school at 656-0748.
Sartell Middle School: Wednesday, Aug. 29 from 3:30-6:30 p.m. from grades 5-8. For more information, call the middle school at 253-2200.
Pine Meadow Elementary School: Wednesday, Aug. 29 from 3:30-6 p.m. for grades K-4. For more information, call the school at 253-8303.
Oak Ridge Elementary School: Wednesday, Aug. 29 from 3:30-6 p.m. for grades K-4. For more information, call the school at 258-3694.
For all the above open houses, families will have a chance to enjoy dinners together at $3.25 per meal for kindergartners through adult ages and $2.25 for pre-schoolers.
Early childhood
The pre-school open house will be later than originally scheduled because of ongoing construction in the District Office Building, where the new Early Childhood Education Program will be offered starting this year. The open houses will take place during two days, Sept. 5 and Sept. 6.
Parents should check their children’s sections for when to attend the open houses, as listed below. If parents are unable to attend their specified time, they can set up a different time by calling the Early Childhood Education office at 656-3763.
The newly scheduled open houses for early-childhood programs are as follows:
Wednesday, Sept. 5:
5:30-6:30 p.m.
Section 1. Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays in Room 220; Section 3. Tuesdays and Thursdays mornings. Room 211.
Section 6. Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Noon-2 p.m. room 213.
6:30-7:30 p.m.
Section 8. Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays mornings. Room 215. Section 7. Mondays Wednesdays, Fridays mornings. Room 213

Thursday, Sept. 6:
5:30-6:30 p.m.
Section 2. Tuesdays and Thursdays, Noon-2 p.m. Room 220.
Section 4. Tuesdays and Thursdays mornings. Room 213.
6:30-7:30 p.m.
Section 9. Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays p.m. classes. Room 215.
Section 10. Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays all day. Room 211.
