Starting Thursday, January 28, updated visitor guidelines will take effect allowing one healthy adult visitor at all CentraCare sites and two adult visitors allowed for minor patients. This includes hospitals, clinics and specialty centers.
These new guidelines do not pertain to long-term care facilities because of different regulations for vulnerable populations.
This update comes after strict visitor guidelines were implemented during the COVID-19 surge experienced in the fall and early winter. As COVID-19 case numbers within CentraCare Health facilities remain manageable, the health system is cautiously optimistic these new guidelines will offer patients a balance of safety and family support while receiving care, according to a media release.
Visitors must be healthy and not have symptoms of COVID-19.
Visitors to a CentraCare Health facility must wear a mask that covers both nose and mouth.
Upon entering, all visitors will be screened for signs and symptoms of COVID-19.
