Sartell now has its first female public-works director in the history of the city – Lisa Vollbrecht.
An accomplished professional with more than 24 years of experience, Vollbrecht will take the reins formerly held by John Kothenbeutel, who is about to retire after 30 years of service to the city. The public is invited to attend a Retirement Open House party for Kothenbeutel from 3-5 p.m. Thursday, April 4 in the Sartell Community Center. Cake and refreshments will be served.
Vollbrecht was assistant public-works director for St. Cloud since 2007. She is a long-time resident of Sartell.
“There are two community projects I am most excited to be a part of,” Vollbrecht said. “The Mill District redevelopment project that will bring new life and amenities to the area. And the Central Minnesota Health Care Hub for its potential in providing enhanced medical services and ancillary businesses to Sartell.”
A press release from the City of Sartell stated this:
“Vollbrecht’s experience will be vital in the development of both projects (Mill District, Health-Care Hub), and we look forward to leveraging her leadership and expertise. Vollbrecht’s extensive experience . . . make her a valuable addition to the Sartell team. Her innovative perspective is expected to contribute positively to the departments of Parks and Rec, Fleet and Facilities, Street Maintenance, and Utilities under the heading of Public Works.”
