Scott Warzecha, president of Catholic Community Schools, recently announced he will resign, effective April 1.
CCS is a school system in the greater St. Cloud area that includes seven Catholic elementary schools, including St. Joseph Catholic School in St. Joseph and St. Francis Xavier Elementary School in Sartell. The system also extends to Cathedral middle school and high school in St. Cloud.
Warzecha was appointed to the presidency position on April 1, 2020. Among his achievements are the following: he led the schools through the Covid-19 pandemic; he initiated many system-building structures and practices to strengthen the vitality of the schools; and he established a variable-tuition model to allow greater accessibility for those who want a Catholic education.
“I am proud of the work that has been accomplished during the past three years,” Warzecha said. “CCS has a highly qualified team that is grounded in our mission and is capable of meeting the challenges and opportunities of the future. I am truly thankful for so many people – our principals, staff and teachers for their deep commitment and love for what they do, our parents for giving our schools life by sharing their children with us and our supportive friends and partners who believe in the value and impact of Catholic education. I look forward to continuing to support CCS in new ways in the days ahead.”
Bishop Donald Kettler said he is grateful for Warzecha’s service to the CCS community and commitment to Catholic education.
“I thank Scott for his leadership over these past three years,” Kettler said. “He has helped to stabilize operations in a time of great uncertainty, fostered more collaboration and helped to strengthen the schools’ mission. His accomplishments and efforts help to ensure the future of Catholic schools in the St. Cloud area. Scott and the whole CCS community are and will continue to be in my prayers at this time of transition.”
The CCS Board also extended its appreciation for Warzecha’s contribution and leadership. The board has begun the work of establishing a transitional leadership plan and a search process for the next president.
