St. Joseph Food Shelf benefits from challenge
The Community Challenge has raised more than $519,000 including the $150,000 match offered through the Norman C. Skalicky Foundation. The Community Challenge is hosted in partnership with the Central Minnesota Community Foundation.
Three local charities will benefit from the funds raised, including the St. Joseph, Catholic Charities and Salvation Army food shelves.
Basic needs and more
In Central Minnesota, many are struggling to get essentials like soap, toothpaste, toilet paper, and other items that most of us take for granted. Families and individuals within our community are forced to make heartbreaking choices between necessities and other crucial expenses.
Join us as we collect donations of basic need items to ensure everyone has access to the essentials and bring a little comfort to those who need it most. Items requested are body wash, conditioner, dental floss and toothpaste, laundry soap, lotion, mouthwash, razors, tampons/pads, toilet paper and Vaseline.
Donations can be dropped off at United Way of Central Minnesota, 921 1st St. N., St. Cloud from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday and from 8 a.m. to noon Friday.

Big Brothers Big Sisters seek Bigs on Campus
Mentors in the community-based program provide friendship, support and hope to young people with whom they are matched. This is a one-on-one volunteer opportunity to provide friendship and guidance to a child in Central Minnesota.
The volunteer Bigs meet with their Little two to three times a month for at least 12 months. Matches can go to the movies, go fishing, do arts and crafts, read together – whatever they enjoy doing. BBBS staff also plan two to three activities per month that matches can attend on top of their outings in the community.
