June 24
6:42 p.m. Assault. Pamela Lane. Requested to assist Stearns County with a possible assault at the group home on Pamela Lane. Arrived and located the juvenile with a staff member. Stood by until deputy arrived.
June 25
1:42 a.m. Door check. College Avenue N./Minnesota Street. Officer walked downtown area after bar close, checking businesses doors. No open doors located on College Avenue, Minnesota Street W., Minnesota Street E., Cedar Street E. or CR 75. All appeared OK.
11:16 a.m. Speeding. Minnesota Street E./12th Avenue S.E. Officer observed a vehicle eastbound on Minnesota Street E. that was traveling at a high rate of speed in a 30-mph zone. Radar clocked vehicle at 52 mph. Officer stopped the vehicle and issued a speed citation. The vehicle had 02/21 registration. Officer gave verbal warning for expired registration.
2:57 a.m. Medical. Third Avenue SE. I was dispatched to a medical at a local group home for a male who had a seizure. Officer arrived on scene, was advised male was blind and non-verbal, and stood by and monitored until rescue and Mayo arrived on scene and took over care.
June 26
2:05 a.m. Loud noise. Schneider Drive. Complainant reported a loud noise outside her home last night and upon looking outside this morning, found several holes in her siding and skirting. I took photos and advised complainant to get me a damage estimate. No suspects. Appears grass was cut within the past couple days.
7:09 a.m. Fireworks complaint. Third Avenue SW. Complainant called stating the neighbor was lighting fireworks and said they were concerned for the dry conditions. The neighbor had sparklers and other similar fireworks going; nothing while officer was there. The neighbor had a water hose nearby as well. Officer informed the complainant the fireworks being used were legal and could be lit. The complainant asked officer to drive by a few times to make sure nothing was on fire.
June 28
10:04 p.m. Harassment. Baker Street E. Officer was dispatched to a harassment complaint between two females. One said the other started yelling at her and calling names. The second female said she had the other girl’s new address but no threats had been made. First individual said second individual came over and the two got into an argument. According to second individual, first individual started swearing and doing hand gestures. Advised both to stay away from one another and explained HRO process.
June 29
1:48 a.m. Abandoned vehicle. Pearl Drive. Officer witnessed a parked vehicle with its running lights still on. The vehicle was unoccupied, and the area was clear. Officer turned off the lights to the vehicle.
2:08 p.m. Assault. 322nd Street. A Stearns County Sheriff’s Officer was dispatched to an assault in progress at a residence. St. Joseph officer responded and arrived on scene first. Parties were separated. Spoke with both parties. No assault occurred. Civil dispute over property. Sheriff’s officer arrived on scene. St. Joseph officer stood by for officer safety.
July 3
1:52 p.m. Road obstruction. Fourth Avenue NE/CR 75. Officer responded to complaint of a road sign laying in the roadway and a vehicle in the ditch. Officer found sign in roadway but no vehicle on scene. Photos were taken. No video or suspect info available at this time. County maintenance was notified to replace sign.
8:57 p.m. Theft. Morningside Loop. Complainant said the door to his trailer in his driveway was open and his ball hitch and two ratchet straps that were inside were missing. Unknown suspects. Complainant said he was only gone for two hours when this happened. Value of stolen items estimated at $113. Complainant requested extra patrol in area.
July 9
11:01 a.m. Alarm. Fourth Avenue NE. Officer was dispatched for a panic alarm. Upon arrival, officer asked dispatch to call inside the store and have an employee come out. A short time later, the assistant manager stepped out and advised everything was OK.
