A plan for a bond sale of up to $7 million to pay for the Pinecone Road reconstruction and overlay project in Sartell was approved unanimously by the city council at its Feb. 26 meeting.
The council also approved the street plan itself.
Starting this spring, portions of Pinecone Road between First Street N. and 35th Street N. will be either reconstructed or overlaid. A center left-turn lane will also be added as well as two roundabouts near the north end of the road, one of them by the entrance to the new high school.
The estimated cost of the project is $6.5 million. The council authorized a bond sale not to exceed $7 million. There are other street improvement plans for Sartell for the next five years, but this particular project, the Pinecone Road one, required a bond sale of its own, called a general-obligation street- reconstruction bond.
The bonds are expected to be ready for sale, via Ehlers & Associates, sometime in April, with council approval. The bonds would then be sold in May.
