COVID-19 booster vaccines are available at CentraCare locations throughout central Minnesota.
The latest booster dose was approved in October by both the federal Food and Drug Administration and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
CentraCare clinics have the Pfizer bivalent booster vaccine available for people 12 years old and older who had their primary vaccine series or their last booster more than two months ago.
The bivalent booster, according to CentraCare, provides broader protection against COVID-19 because it targets both the original strain of that virus and its new “Omicron” mutated variants, the same variations that happen with the influenza (flu) virus every year.
People may get a flu shot at the same time they receive a COVID-19 vaccine, including this latest bivalent booster shot.
For more information about the booster shot and for information about vaccines for young children, call your local medical-care provider or CentraCare at 320-200-3200.
