Local food-shelf donations must be received by Dec. 31 in order to quality for a matching grant of up to $150,000 from Stearns Bank in partnership with the Minnesota Community Foundation. On Dec. 19, Stearns Bank announced it was increasing its matching grant by $50,000 from its previous commitment of $100,000, for a total of $150,000.
It’s called the Stearns Bank Community Challenge, and it applies to every dollar donated to three area food shelves this holiday season. For each dollar donated, the Challenge will match that dollar with another dollar, as much as $150,000 worth all told.
Contributions can be sent to any or all of the following eligible food shelves to qualify for matching-grant funds. Checks or cash donated should be marked with the words, “Stearns Bank Community Challenge.”
