3:17 p.m. Crash. Pinecone Road/Troop Drive. Officers were dispatched to a two-vehicle crash. The driver of the first vehicle was traveling north in the right lane on Pinecone, when a second vehicle pulled out from 23rd Street S. attempting to make a left hand turn onto southbound Pinecone Road, causing the two vehicles to collide. The driver of the second vehicle stated the sun was in their view and they didn’t see the other vehicle. Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.

5:47 p.m. Suspicious person. Victory Avenue. Officers were called about two young men going door to door claiming to be with Xcel with no identification. Officer spoke with the individuals who stated they were trying to set up a consultation for services for Wolf River Electric. Neither person had a permit to solicit and was asked to cease the activity until those requirements were met.

3:24 p.m. Traffic stop. Riverside Avenue/CR 78. While on patrol, officers saw a vehicle approaching at a high rate of speed. The officer ran the license plate and found the registered owner had a revoked license. As the officer approached the vehicle, the driver appeared to be ending a Facetime call. The officer asked why they were on the phone while driving, to which the driver stated they were talking to their grandma. The driver was issued a citation for driving after revocation and holding a wireless communication device while driving.

9:23 a.m. Hit and run. Second Street S./Sundance Road. Officers responded to a hit-and-run complaint. The driver stated they were coming through the roundabout by Walgreens when a truck behind them tried to go around and clipped the driver’s side rear bumper. The driver stated they pulled over but the vehicle that struck them continued to drive on. Officers took photos of the damage and provided the driver with a case number for insurance purposes.

10:13 a.m. Vagrancy. 100 CR 120. Officers were dispatched to Sauk River Regional Park on reports of squatters along the river. The caller stated there were tarps laid out, but no one was around. Officers walked around the park and didn’t find any tarps or anything suspicious.

6:43 p.m. Traffic stop. 18 Street N/Second Avenue N. While on patrol, officers saw a vehicle approaching at a high rate of speed. Officers clocked the vehicle going 55 mph in a 40-mph zone. The officer conducted a traffic stop and spoke with the driver, who stated they were unaware of their speed. The driver was issued a citation for speeding.

9:04 a.m. Dog complaint. Connecticut Avenue S. Officers received a phone call regarding a dog complaint. The caller stated the dog barks constantly in the afternoon/evening hours every night. Officers advised they would check the area several times throughout the day to listen for barking and speak with the homeowners.

10:03 p.m. Traffic Stop. Pinecone Road / 15 Street N. While on patrol, officers saw a vehicle approaching at a high rate of speed. The officer initiated a traffic stop and spoke with the driver who admitted they were speeding and were hurrying to get home. A verbal warning for speeding was given to the driver.
Nov. 29
1:25 p.m. Theft. 101 Benton Drive. Officers were called to a theft complaint at a nearby business. The caller stated that roughly $30,000 in power cable were stolen from their lot. The victim stated the wires were cut and a pruner was left behind. The victim stated they had also contacted the local scrap metal business to give them a heads up. There are no suspects at this time and the case has been turned over to the department’s investigators.

1:59 p.m. Personal Assist. 2 Street S. Officers were dispatched to a nearby business, to help a man who couldn’t find his wife. The victim said his wife has Alzheimer’s and had told her to wait in the car. When we returned the car was gone. Officers put the vehicles license plate into the flock system and were able to locate the vehicle at a nearby grocery store. Officers brought the man to the store and were able to reunite the couple.
Dec. 1
10:11 p.m. Traffic Stop. 1 Avenue NE / Benton Drive. Officers were on patrol, when they observed a vehicle complete an illegal U-turn in the middle of the roadway. The officer ran the vehicles license plate and learned the registration had expired. The officer stopped the vehicle and spoke to the driver, who seemed aware of the expired registration. The driver was issued a citation for the expired registration.
Dec. 2
10:04 a.m. Suspicious Vehicle. Celebration Circle. Officers were dispatched to the area for a suspicious vehicle. The caller stated a pickup truck had been driving really slow around the area and believed they may be looking for packages. Officers were able to locate the vehicle while enroute. The driver lived near Grizzly Lane. Nothing further.

5:17 PM. Noise. 8 Street N. Officers were called to a noise complaint. The complainant stated they could hear loud music coming from the garage. Officers arrived and could clearly hear the music from down the street. Officers spoke with a juvenile at the residence and advised them of the complaint. They apologized and agreed to turn down the music.

1:48 p.m. Unwanted Person. 21 County Road 120. Officers responded to a nearby business for an unwanted person complaint. Officers were informed there was a man at the Money Center yelling at staff. Staff told the man they would be calling the police due to his behavior. The man ultimately calmed down and apologized before leaving the store. No crime was committed.
