Nov. 19
11:31 a.m. Gun. Fifth Street N. Officers were dispatched to a complaint of a gun. Officers were told that an argument had happened, and a gun was shown. Officers responded to the area and found a man outside wearing shorts, shirt, no shoes, no socks and the current temp was 14 degrees. The officer patted the male down and had him sit in her squad car and got his side of the story. Another officer responded to the home and spoke to a man and a woman. The stories did not add up correctly and it was decided to have the man transported to Place of Hope because he needed somewhere to stay. Case being reviewed for charges.
Nov. 20
6:38 a.m. Welfare check. Roberts Road. Officers were requested to check on a woman who was sitting in the entryway of an apartment with her head in her hands. The caller had asked if she was OK, and the woman seemed very confused. Officers arrived on scene and found an intoxicated woman sleeping on a chair in the lobby. The woman was confused but knew she had been out drinking the night before and had gone with friends to an apartment. The woman gave a name of the friend, which the officer located on the apartment directory, but no apartment number was listed. The woman was able to think of another friend who lived in Sartell. The officer spoke to that friend and the friend’s husband came to pick the woman up.
Nov. 21
12:33 p.m. Theft from vehicle. CR 120. Officers were dispatched to a man seen on camera stealing. Officers were then told the man was fleeing from the scene. An officer was able to locate a man matching the description; the officer activated his emergency lights and the man stopped and listened to verbal commands given by the officer. The officer detained the man and took him back to the scene. The officer learned the man had stolen items from a locker and was seen on camera trying to enter cars. When the man was confronted, he punched the business owner. The man was arrested for assault, tampering with a motor vehicle and theft.
Nov. 22
3:19 p.m. Assault. CR 120. Officers were requested for an assault that happened inside the business. When officers arrived on scene, they were informed a woman was pushed inside the store, fell and possibly had a head injury. One officer stayed with the victim and the other officer tried to locate the suspect. The suspect was located, and he admitted to being part of the incident. The suspect told the officer he got angry when he had asked the woman to move multiple times and she didn’t. The man knew he was in the wrong for pushing her. The woman was transported to the hospital by a private party and the man was cited for the incident.
Nov. 23
7:21 p.m. Shoplifting. CR 120. Officers were dispatched to two woman concealing merchandise in a store. The officer was informed one woman had passed the last point of sale and refused to stop for asset protection. The officer was given a description of the vehicle the women were in and was able to stop the vehicle. The women refused having any involvement in stealing. The merchandise at first wasn’t located, but a short time later it was found the women had ditched the purse and stolen contents in the parking lot. While the officers were interacting with the women, the smell of burnt marijuana was detected and the vehicle was searched. Drug paraphernalia was found in the vehicle. Both women were cited for shoplifting, and one was also cited for possession of drug paraphernalia.

3:12 p.m. Vehicle pursuit. Pinecone Road S. While an officer was enroute to another call, they witnessed a vehicle make a U-turn while at a red light. The officer attempted to make a traffic stop on the vehicle for the violation, but the vehicle did not stop even with the officer’s emergency lights activated. The vehicle turned into a residence and parked in the driveway. The officer waited for more units to arrive, and the man was directed out of the vehicle and detained. The man told the officer he ran because he had bad tabs and this way the vehicle was parked in a driveway. The man was taken to the Stearns County Jail and his vehicle was towed.
Nov. 25
6:56 p.m. Suspicious vehicle. Fifth Avenue S. An officer was dispatched to a suspicious vehicle parked near their home; it had circled the block but was back again. As the officer walked up to the vehicle, he could see the driver holding a glass pipe in his hand and lighting the substance inside. The officer had noted a strong smell of marijuana was coming from the vehicle, and there were three occupants. The man gave the officer the pipe when requested to turn it over. The officer asked if there was any more marijuana in the car, and the passenger handed over a small amount. As another officer arrived on scene, they began identifying the occupants. It was learned the man in the rear passenger area had a warrant for his arrest; he was detained and later taken to the Stearns County Jail. While searching the vehicle the officers found more marijuana, drug paraphernalia, a prescription pill and alcohol. The driver was long formed for fifth-degree possession, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of alcohol by someone under 21. The female passenger was charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana.

10 a.m. Traffic stop. Riverside Avenue S. While on routine traffic patrol, an officer was running stationary radar. The officer observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. The officer clocked the vehicle traveling 50 mph, in a 30 mph zone. The officer completed a traffic stop on the vehicle and issued the driver a citation.
Nov. 27
10:23 a.m. Assist sgency. Benton Drive. A Sartell officer was requested to assist a Benton County Deputy during a traffic stop. The vehicle was occupied by two people. The deputy told the officer they could smell marijuana from inside the vehicle. A vehicle search was done, turning up medications that both occupants didn’t have prescriptions for, and both occupants denied ownership. The deputy was going to long form for marijuana, pills, and speed violations.
Nov. 28
1:52 p.m. Theft. Seventh Avenue S. An officer was dispatched to a complaint stating she had a USPS package delivered to her apartment, but it was now missing. The complainant told the officer an unknown woman made a McDonald’s food delivery, she was buzzed in and then is seen leaving with a package. The officer was able to confirm with McDonald’s that the woman had picked up the food from their location and was able to get a license plate number off their video. The officer made contact with the woman who told the officer the box had “free for the taking” written on it. The officer spoke to the apartment manager to get video to confirm no one had written on the package from the time it was delivered to when the woman took it. The officer is waiting on the video; if no one wrote on the package, the food delivery driver will be issued a citation for theft.

4:31 a.m. Suspicious vehicle. Sartell Street E. While an officer was on routine patrol, he noticed a vehicle parked in a parking lot of a business after hours. The officer ran the license plate and found that it wasn’t a missing vehicle. The officer approached the vehicle, and it was unoccupied.
Nov. 30
2 p.m. Traffic stop. Second Street N. While an officer was on routine patrol, he observed a vehicle in front of him displaying 2021 registration. The officer ran a license-plate check on the vehicle using his computer and confirmed the registration was expired since September 2021. The officer conducted a traffic stop with the vehicle and spoke to the female driver. The woman said was unaware of the expired registration and told the officer her husband normally takes care of it. The officer issued the woman a citation.
Dec. 1
3:22 p.m. Assist agency. Highway 15. An officer was dispatched to a deceased deer in the lane of traffic. The officer located the deer and dragged it off the roadway into the ditch. The officer had dispatch check the deer list and located someone interested in picking up the deer. The officer stood by until that party arrived and issued them a deer permit. The striking vehicle was not on scene with the officer.
Dec. 2
5:02 p.m. Shoplifter. CR 120. An officer was requested for a man who was bagging merchandise in the store and believed to be planning to exit the store without paying. The officer was informed that the man was confronted and fled through a fire exit door. The officer was advised the man was last seen running in the tall grass between CR 1 and River Vista Lane. While officers searched for the man, they located a black garbage bag full of merchandise and a DVD player with security wires still on it. Shortly after the man was located walking back toward the store. The officer activated their emergency lights and the man complied. The man was transported back to the store and the man was trespassed. It was determined the man stole more than $900 in merchandise and was placed under arrest for gross misdemeanor theft. The man was transported to the Stearns County Jail.

10:05 p.m. Trespass. CR 120. An officer was requested for a woman in a store that had previously been trespassed. When the officer arrived, the woman had already left the store. The officer was able to view video and identify the woman. The store wanted the woman charged with trespassing. The officer issued and mailed the woman a citation.
Dec. 4
7:21 p.m. Found property. First Ave. N. An officer was requested to a home because a homeowner found a drone in his yard that didn’t belong to him. The officer arrived and spoke to the homeowner, the homeowner heard the drown flying around that afternoon, and later found it crashed in his backyard. The officer took photos of the drone and placed in found property at the police department.
Dec. 5
3:09 p.m. Suspicious activity. Duchess Court. An officer was requested to call a woman regarding a possible scam. The woman stated she received a call from someone stating they were a se rgeant from the St. Cloud Police Department, and she had missed a court summons and now a judge was looking over the case. The officer didn’t recognize the officer’s name and asked the woman to call St. Cloud Police to have them see if they were looking for her. The woman called back and informed the officer it was indeed a scam, and the St. Cloud Police Department was looking into the call.
