Reading the opinion pieces published by your paper is like reading political propaganda, and it is unanimously slanted to the left. Dennis Dalman is radical in his publications, smearing Republican candidates and their supporters as bullies, racists, homophobes, fearmongers, bigots, crazy, hateful, disgusting, vile, spiteful and more. These words are taken directly from his last article.
To paint another person with these words for their policy stances is what is truly hateful. Approximately half of the country supports conservative candidates and what they stand for; many (like me) do so on religious grounds. To judge a whole class of people based on beliefs that were totally mainstream two decades ago is sickening, especially when there is no contrary opinion provided by this publication.
I would suggest either eliminating politics from your opinion section or allowing a conservative to contribute regularly. This may provide for interesting and constructive community conversation. If this publication were a paid subscription, I would feel no desire to write this letter, but as all residents are mailed this without their consent, it is disingenuous to push a political agenda. I would be honored to write some of these suggested conservative opinion pieces.
