Jan. 17
11:48 a.m. Verbal. 11th Street S. Officers were dispatched to a verbal dispute between exes, and it had escalated to breaking things in the home. When officers arrived both parties were separated. The man stated he came home intoxicated last night and was upset about curtains being taken down. When he woke up this morning he was still upset, and another conversation had pushed him over the edge, and he ripped the blinds from the window. Both party’s stories lined up and no physical assault had taken place. Both parties agreed to separate and let the situation cool down.
Jan. 18
1:08 a.m. Suspicious vehicle. Crossings Loop. While an officer was on routine patrol, they saw a vehicle pull up to a business and turn its lights off. The officer knew this was not normal business hours. The officer made contact with the male driver, who told the officer he was picking up someone. While the officer was talking to the driver, an employee came out to the vehicle.
Jan. 19
11:25 a.m. Unwanted person. Seventh Avenue S. Officers were dispatched to an apartment building for a man who was refusing to leave. The caller was told the man had threatened residents earlier and no longer wanted him on the property. When officers arrived the man was outside, and claimed the caller was crazy. The man had a ride coming and planned on never coming back to the property. The officer stood by until the man was picked up and left the property.
Jan. 20
2:35 a.m. Intoxicated person. Le Sauk Drive. An officer was dispatched for an intoxicated man who had come to the business around 2 a.m. The man was slurring and stumbling, and the business did not feel comfortable renting him a room. The officer arrived and gave the man the option to get a sober party to pick him up, which the man did not cooperate with. The officer checked with dispatch to see if detox could take him, but they were full. The officer transported the intoxicated man to the St. Cloud Hospital and was left in their care.
Jan. 21
10:47 p.m. Assist agency. Benton Drive N. Officers were requested to respond to a bar in Sauk Rapids for a fight. As officers arrived, they saw Sauk Rapids police officers attempting to get a detained man into the rear of the squad. The man was refusing and after a few attempts it was decided the man would be placed in the WRAP. Sartell officers assisted in placing the man in the WRAP, the WRAP was checked for proper fit and the man was transported to the hospital to be cleared prior to going to Benton County Jail.
Jan. 22
10:42 p.m. Panic alarm. Fourth Avenue N. Officers were dispatched for a panic alarm. Upon arrival on scene everything was dark and there were no vehicles in the area. The officers checked the exterior of the building, and everything was secure. Officers called the keyholder who responded to the building. The keyholder and officer completed a walk through, and everything appeared normal.
Jan. 23
5:14 p.m. Road rage. Pinecone Road S. Two officers noticed two vehicles pull into the Sartell Police Department parking lot. At the same time dispatch aired a 911 call of a woman calling in a road-rage incident, and that she was now being followed. The officers talked separately to the drivers. The woman said she felt the man was driving slowly and brake checking her, so she passed him on the shoulder. The male driver said he was hitting his brakes because of how close the woman was following him. Both drivers were advised to make better driving decisions as what offenses they each admitted to each could be cited for.
