June 27
4:31 p.m. Abandoned vehicle. First Avenue N. Officers were requested to stop by a business to look at video of a suspicious vehicle. A boat/trailer had been left in the parking lot several days. Surveillance video shows a man getting out of the vehicle before leaving the scene in another vehicle. Officers could not identify the man and the boat registration was not on file. The manager of the business had the boat/trailer towed.
June 28
10:24 a.m. Suspicious person. Second Street S. Officers were called to a business on a report of a suspicious person. Management stated a woman had come in asking for ice and sat in the back room. Moments later a man walked in and sat next to the woman. Management told the officer the man had been in the night before and that something felt off. Both parties left shortly after the officer arrived. Officers learned both parties have done similar things to area businesses including asking for free things, using the Wi-Fi and leaving without buying anything. Business was advised to call again if they return.
June 29
10:34 p.m. Animal complaint. Seventh Street S. A caller reported her mother was injured after walking her dogs. The victim told officers as she was walking, a Doberman and a Pitbull ran from a nearby home at her and her dogs. The victim said she was adamant the dogs were attacking her dogs and the interaction was not playful. The dogs were not hurt but the victim suffered minor scratches to her leg. The homeowners of the bigger dogs were warned about the dog-at-large ordinance.
June 30
9:06 p.m. Vandalism. Second Avenue N. Officers were dispatched to a vandalism call. The victim reported someone had egged their house the previous night. There were two hits on the siding and several on the roof. The victim said they reviewed footage from their ring camera but could not see anyone at the time of the incident. The victim requested extra patrol in the area.
July 1
10:16 p.m. Fireworks complaint. Seventh Avenue S. A caller reported someone was lighting off fireworks next to a building. The caller was unsure if they lived in the building or not. Officers checked the area but were unable to find anyone lighting off fireworks.
July 2
10:09 p.m. Traffic stop. Pinecone Road. While on patrol, officers stopped a vehicle for speeding. The driver was issued a verbal warning for speeding, as well as a warning for not having proof of insurance.
July 3
9:07 a.m. Business assist. Second Street S. Sartell Police Department received a call of an unlocked business. The caller stated they went inside and realized the business was closed for the holiday. The caller stated the doors were unlocked; however, the parking lot was empty. Officers spoke with the keyholder on scene who was able to relock the doors. They were advised to check the business again tomorrow as well.
