Sartell residents who attend this summer’s St. Cloud Rox games will have plenty to cheer for – two Sartell hometown men who are Rox team members.
Just recently, it was announced Sartell High School graduate Kade Lewis was drafted as an addition to the Rox roster. Last year, another Sartell High School graduate, Tyler Hemmesch, became a Rox member.
They are two of the 27 players on the Rox roster for the 2024 season. Both men had record-setting achievements during their years on the Sartell High School Sabre Baseball Team.
Lewis is now a freshman at Butler University in Indianapolis, Ind. where he is an infielder on its baseball team, the Butler Bulldogs.
Hemmesch, a right-handed pitcher, is a sophomore at the University of Minnesota and plays on the university’s Golden Gophers baseball team. Rox team members are chosen from colleges throughout the United States.
The St. Cloud Rox home opener is 7 p.m. Friday, May 31. The Rox will compete against the Duluth Huskies. After the game there will be a fireworks display. The stadium is located at 5001 Veterans Drive in St. Cloud.
