water/copper-nickel mining
“Minnesota water and copper-nickel mining: Two perspectives” will be held from 1-2:30 p.m. Thursday, March 13 at the Great River Regional Library, Mississippi Room, 1300 W. St. Germain St., St. Cloud.
The forum, sponsored by the League of Women Voters of the St. Cloud Area, features speakers Julie Lucas, executive director of MiningMinnesota, and Paula Maccabee, executive director and counsel for WaterLegacy. Moderated by Pia Lopez, the speakers will address the benefits and harms of copper-nickel mining for a clean-energy economy, reducing the threat of climate crisis and protecting Minnesota’s clean waters. The speakers will offer differing points of view in a friendly, non-adversarial manner. For more information, visit www.lwvsca.org. Please attend and bring your questions!
