April 18
9:27 p.m. Assist person. CR 120. An officer was dispatched to a business for a man standing outside asking customers for a ride. The officer arrived and the man told him he wanted a ride to detox. The man told the officer he had not been drinking, just needed somewhere to stay for the night. The officer called Lincoln Center, but they were full for the evening. The officer brought the man to Place of Hope; the man entered the door and the officer cleared.
April 19
9:47 p.m. 911 open line. Riverside Avenue. Officers were dispatched to an open 911 line, where dispatch could hear a man and woman arguing. Officers arrived and found both parties inside the home to be intoxicated. Both parties had the same story and wanted nothing done. Both parties stated they would separate, one in the bedroom and the other in the living room for the night. Officers had nothing further to go on.
April 20
2:31 a.m. Domestic. Riverside Avenue. Officers were called back to an address they had been to earlier in the night for a domestic. The woman told officers she had been choked and the man had picked her dog up by its neck. The woman gave a statement to the officers. The man was arrested for probable cause domestic assault by strangulation; the man was booked and held in the Stearns County Jail.
April 21
9:58 a.m. Unwanted. Second Street S. An officer was requested to a business for an unwanted man that had been asked to leave several times. The officer located the man near the ATM; the officer was told by staff the man comes in often, sits by the ATM and waits for customers to use the machine then approaches them asking for money. The store wanted the man trespassed because they keep getting complaints from customers. The officer spoke to the man who said he hadn’t done anything wrong and was waiting for a ride. The man was verbally trespassed from the store; the man refused to sign anything. The man left the property.
April 22
3:47 a.m. Loud music. Perimeter Drive. Officers were dispatched to a loud-music complaint at a residence. Officers arrived in the area and noted they could hear music from a few trailers away. Officers made contact with a man who agreed to turn the music down. The man was verbally warned and informed if any further complaints come in, he will be cited for violation.
April 23
1:10 p.m. Car fire. 19th Street S. Officers were dispatched to a car fire at the Sartell Community Center. Officers arrived to observe the entire engine compartment was engulfed and the cab of the vehicle was starting to burn. The officer made contact with the owner, who stated they had just parked their vehicle in the parking lot and they were walking toward the walking path. The owner stated he and his wife smelled something burning, then turned around to see their vehicle was on fire. The owner retrieved a fire extinguisher from the Community Center and used the entire bottle. The owner had a second extinguisher, but the vehicle was too far gone to use it. The Sartell Fire Department arrived and put out the fire. It was noted two other vehicles received damage. After collecting the information needed from the owner, the officer drove the owner and his wife home.
April 24
11:26 a.m. Suspicious activity. CR 120. An officer on routine patrol noticed two men walking on private property and one was carrying a gas can. The officer was aware of a previous call from last evening, where another officer responded for two men exiting a car and running into the wooded property. The officer was unable to locate the men today. Since this property is technically Stearns County, a Stearns County sergeant made contact with the property owner who stated if the men were found, to trespass them from the property.
