It is anti-democratic to deny people the right to abstain from casting a ballot as a sign of protest. Democracy is at risk when citizens are not free to decide for themselves which candidate(s) represent their fundamental values and whether no candidates at all (under a very limited choice) are compatible with those values.
As for the war in the Middle East, let’s remember under the previous administration, that region, as the rest of the world, didn’t experience any new conflicts. The Abraham Accords, promptly abandoned by the Biden-Harris administration, opened up a new area of negotiations to finally guarantee the existence of Israel by forging economic and cultural relations between the Jewish state and Arab countries. Furthermore, Iran was basically bankrupt thanks to strictly enforced crippling sanctions (promptly relaxed by the current administration), incapable of financing
Hamas, Hezbollah or the Houthis attack Israel and spread chaos and terror in the Red Sea.
Had the United States continued its policy of aggressively producing more crude oil and natural gas to keep world prices low and supplies abundant, Russia, Iran and Qatar would not have gained their current status of critical providers of energy to Europe, China and India. Qatar would not be allowed to host and protect Hamas leadership.
Let’s be serious. Very few Palestinians and Ukrainians were killed during the Trump presidency, very different under Biden-Harris. The world is not safe; the United States is not safe.
