The regular school board meeting of Independent School District 748 was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Chair Matt Moehrle. Members present: Moehrle; Emily Larson, clerk; Jen Smith, treasurer; Tricia Meling, vice chair; Jason Nies, director; Scott Wenshau, director and Dr. Jeff Ridlehoover, superintendent. Members absent: None
The Pledge of Allegiance was said.
A motion was made by Meling and seconded by Nies to APPROVE THE AGENDA AS PRESENTED. All in favor. Motion carried.
Public Forum was held.
A motion was made by Nies and seconded by Larson to APPROVE CONSENT ITEMS A.5.a – A.5.e AS PRESENTED BELOW. All in favor. Motion carried.

ISD748 Sabre Star Report:
- Jeff Ridlehoover, superintendent, presented Rhonda Pierskalla with the February SABRE star award. Julia Bjerke, Oak Ridge Early Learning Center principal, presented Carrie Gapinski, wocial worker with the March SABRE Star Award.
School Board Student Representative Report:
- The School Board Student Representative Benjamin Thompson reported on happenings around the district.
Winter Activities Report:
- Activities Director Bruce Thompson, along with students who participated in winter activities, talked about the outcome of winter sports and activities.
Superintendent Report:
- Superintendent Ridlehoover reported on happenings around the district. He started by sharing the middle school musical “Matilda Jr.” was a huge success and that we are nearing the end of the Music in the Schools concert series. The Sartell Robotics Team took first place at the state competition and qualified for the world competition. One of our teachers, Joe Schulte, advanced to the Minnesota Teacher of the Year semifinal round and is one of only a small number to be considered for the top state honor. Feedback regarding e-learning was provided. Our Learning and Teaching department has been working diligently to review and select new literacy curriculum. The American Indian Parent Advisory Committee dinner will take place at 5:30 p.m. this Thursday at Oak Ridge Early Learning Center. Ridlehoover attended the MSBA/MASA Day at the Capitol. Finally, our students and staff are all excited that spring break is on the horizon the week of March 27-31.
District Finance Report:
- Business Manager Joe Prom shared current finance and budget information.
Superintendent Search Update Report:
- Board Chair Matt Moehrle provided an update on the search process for Superintendent.
School Board Committee Report:
- Jen Smith – Communications & Technology Committee. Will meet at 8 a.m. Wednesday, April 19.
- Matt Moehrle – Sartell Senior Connections. Check their website for activities. They are a very active group.
- Matt Moehrle – Benton Stearns Education District Facilities Committee meeting. They hired an architect and financial consultant to help them determine what to do with aging buildings.
- Jen Smith – Career and Technical Education. Will meet at 7:45 a.m. Wednesday, May 3.
- Matt Moehrle – Negotiations Committee. A meeting will be scheduled in the upcoming future.

A motion was made by Nies and seconded by Meling to PROVISIONALLY APPROVE SCHOOL DISTRICT CALENDAR for 2024-2025. All in Favor. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Smith and seconded by Meling to APPROVE PROPOSED STEARNS COUNTY HAZRAD MITIGATION PLAN. All in Favor. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Nies and seconded by Wenshau to APPROVE OUTDOOR LIGHTING BID. All in Favor. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Smith and seconded by Larson to APPROVE RESOLUTION ALLOWING FOR POTENTIAL BUDGET ADJUSTMENTS. All in Favor. Motion carried.
Schedule Committee Meetings/Discussion:
