Suicide prevention launches text messaging helpline
The National Alliance on Mental Illness has launched a nationwide SMS/text message support option. Young people experiencing a crisis may prefer texting. 62640 connects to the NAMI Helpline and is available to all. Text “HELPLINE” TO 62640 for mental health support between 9 a.m.–9 p.m. (CST) Monday-Friday. This free, peer-support service provides information, resource referrals and support to people living with a mental-health condition, their family members and caregivers, mental-health providers and the public.
Help with parent pickup
Are you looking for a way to stay active, give back to your community, and support youth? Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Minnesota is your answer! They are looking for volunteers to help with parent pick-up, 2-4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday at most locations. Perhaps you would prefer more program interaction. No problem! Meals on Wheels drivers
Volunteers deliver meals to home-bound seniors in the St Cloud area. Meals are picked up at Whitney Senior Center; you will deliver meals to on average of five-seven seniors. Volunteer assistance is needed Mondays from 10 a.m.-11:30 p.m. Visit ccstcloud.org/volunteer to learn more about the program and complete an application.
