As Israel continues its form of genocide against the people of Gaza and Palestine, world leaders are passing resolutions to condemn and stop its actions. When votes are taken among its members, a single veto by a member can defeat any resolution. With the United States as Israel’s strongest supporter, the United States is often the veto that makes a difference.
Israel was aware of a planned attack in Israel by Hamas, months in advance. Having full control of its borders with Palestine, why did Israel allow this attack to occur with little opposition from Israel, with its massive military might and intelligence capability?
As Israel continues its devastation, despite world opinion, their reasons become more obvious. They wanted an excuse to destroy Hamas and destroy the will of the people to achieve a Palestine state.
As we see the massive devastation by air and land, many, or most, of the armaments are made in the United States and given to Israel. We have long provided Israel with $4 billion and other items each year. Our Congress recently passed a resolution to supply a much larger support, but it has now been delayed in Congress.
As our world leaders view our support of Israel and our internal political problems, how does it affect this respect for America they once had?
We are all born with a moral compass. Prior to our November elections, we all have the duty to assess the direction of our needle.
As I am writing this letter, there has been no resolve in the Gaza conflict. When is it over? Who is next in line?
