The City of St. Joseph will be interviewing seven candidates to fill the vacancy on the city council following the resignation of council member Anne Buckvold in January.
Candidates include Tom Dullinger, Jonathan Hazen, Kevin Kluesner, Carmie Mick, Mike Osterman, Paul Orvis and Paul Phillipp.
The council has the authority to appoint any individual who is eligible for election to the office.
The individual appointed will serve the remainder of the term from the date of appointment until Dec. 31, 2022.
Applications were due 4:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 12, and interviews are scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 18.
The top candidate will be administered the oath of office at the March 1 city council meeting.
